NEVER have fruit for breakfast (if you want to lose weight and prevent diabetes)

Blood sugar spikes are BAD…they’re what cause us to feel hangry 30 mins later, lightheaded, or craving sugar. They may be especially bad first thing in the morning. You want to break-your-fast with a complete meal vs. one that is too high in sugar. Continued ups-and-downs  in our blood sugar creates a craving in our body for high carbohydrate foods. Micronutrient Mondays – **Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)**

Conenzyme Q10 or CoQ10 is part of a family called the ubiquinones and is a powerful antioxidant! Humans can synthesize CoQ10 so it’s considered nonessential, but nonetheless, deficiencies can arise. One of the biggest risk factors for deficiency is treatment with a cholesterol lowering statin medication, like Lipitor. It’s established that patients on statin medications have reduced CoQ10 levels. Some studies have shown statins can drop CoQ10 levels by as much as 40 percent.

When you consume food, blood sugar (glucose) levels rise, then your body releases insulin from the pancreas. Insulin lowers blood sugar by allowing glucose to enter your body’s cells.
